Job Summary:

M3 Placement is seeking a highly skilled Central Office Network Technician to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the evaluation, planning, design, installation, testing, monitoring, and maintenance of central office, transmission, and network equipment. This role requires collaboration with various departments, including IT, Customer Service, and Management, to ensure the needs of our client's residential and business customers are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routing, switching, and transport devices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to maintenance emergencies.
  • Perform design, installation, and servicing of central office facilities.
  • Repair and maintain power supply equipment, including rectifiers and generators.
  • Evaluate performance of customer lines, switching gear, and billing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and subscriber records.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network upgrades and improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with project planning and execution for network expansions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians as needed.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex network issues and implementing solutions.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or higher in telecommunications or electronics - preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Central Office operations, Ethernet and TDM transport protocols, and voice transport systems.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC power systems and electronics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
