Position Overview:
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing quality standards for new models of assigned products.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively in team settings
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Willingness to travel for overnight assignments (up to 30%)
  • Experience with plastic injection molding is advantageous
  • Proficiency in standard business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboration:
Work closely with Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and Production teams to develop new programs and implement engineering changes for existing mass production components.

Cross-Functional Meetings:
  • Review lessons learned with the core team
  • Create initial PFMEA, Control Plans, and Product Quality Standards
  • Develop preliminary concepts within a specified timeframe
  • Define requirements for checking fixtures and gauges
  • Establish initial test plans

Documentation Management:
  • Create and manage Control Plans, PFMEA, and Product Quality Standards for assigned components
  • Prepare quality documentation and inspection data in accordance with customer standards

Fixture and Gage Management:
  • Oversee checking fixtures and gauges as established in meetings
  • Source quality assets for testing

Trial Management:
  • Define and develop limit samples for new components
  • Gather samples during production trials and complete necessary documentation
  • Provide marked-up samples of non-conforming conditions to tooling

Assembly Oversight:
  • Define and develop limit samples for new assemblies
  • Gather samples during assembly and provide marked-up samples of non-conforming conditions

Testing and Compliance:
  • Follow testing plans and report any issues
  • Submit products for compliance testing
  • Interpret lab inspection reports and ensure accuracy

Quality Assurance:
  • Develop early containment procedures for new parts
  • Assist in customer audits
  • Lead efforts to resolve quality issues

PPAP Submission:
  • Create and submit PPAP documentation as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
