The Warehouse Inventory and Quality Manager will lead the operations of the Quality Assurance and Inventory Control teams. This role encompasses oversight of warehousing, shipping, receiving, and product handling, while also identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective product movement and adherence to policies/procedures related to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory replenishment.
  • Proactively manage initiatives to reduce downtime, enhance product handling, improve product presentation, and optimize line delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels and implementing product loss control measures within the warehouse.
  • Train staff on essential procedures relevant to their roles.
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating practices, methods, and processes; recommend changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Organize warehouse and material storage areas, adhering to design principles and identifying opportunities for system enhancements.
  • Oversee daily operations within product management teams, including planning, material flow, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop team members, monitoring productivity, work quality, performance, and attendance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system for accurate material transactions and proper inventory handling.
  • Oversee Non-Conforming Material Review related to Product Control.
  • Document receiving discrepancies in the company's Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding their preferences for addressing discrepancies.
  • Inform the Sales and Order Management department about discrepancies and their potential impact on customer supply.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies according to supplier and customer instructions, which may involve scrapping, vendor returns, or customer shipments.
  • Track supplier performance, including delivery timeliness, by preparing incident logs.
  • Review receiving schedules to anticipate daily product arrivals and track delivery status.
  • Prepare management reports on overall vendor performance.
  • Adhere to ISO/TL9000 requirements relevant to the position.
  • Collaborate with various functional groups to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for defective operations issues, utilizing data and objective reasoning.
  • Identify preventive actions to address inventory discrepancies and systemic issues.
  • Assist in both internal and external audit preparations and executions.
  • Ensure proper management of developed standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Maintain transparent communication with senior leadership regarding challenges affecting business goals.
  • Supervise the complete inspection process from Receiving to Shipping, including customer field incidents.
  • Support the planning and development of assurance/control systems for specific products or processes across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience in retail or warehouse settings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; strong administrative capabilities.
  • Able to interpret data and evaluate alternative solutions effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and assertive, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work off-shift and extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and hold a forklift certification.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze situations and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to motivate staff towards achieving goals and monitor progress.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a warehouse/distribution center, with some outdoor exposure during work hours. The role may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level can be loud, and standard office equipment, as well as warehouse tools, will be utilized.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to use hands for handling, reaching, and talking. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and maneuvering around pallets is necessary. Occasional sitting and climbing may be required. The role involves lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
