About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a Strategic Fundraising Leader to join our team at Syracuse University, specifically focused on advancing fundraising efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region. Reporting to the Central Giving Team, you will be responsible for driving growth and success in securing significant gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serving as a senior member of the Central Giving Team, collaborating with colleagues across divisions and schools to develop strategic donor relationships and secure major gifts.
  • Leveraging expertise in major gift fundraising to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, identify new prospects, and cultivate donors through personalized engagement strategies.
  • Closely working with the Regional Councils to align purpose and activities, ensuring effective coordination and communication among volunteers, faculty, and staff.
  • Fostering a strong sense of community among alumni and parents in the Mid-Atlantic region, promoting philanthropic support and enhancing the university's presence in the area.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably with an advanced degree; 7+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, with a proven track record of accomplishment.
  • Outstanding leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and directing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, including academic leaders, alumni, and donors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
