Childcare Associate Teacher

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Childcare Associate Teacher to join our team at the Keene Family YMCA. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, enjoyable, and culturally aware environment that promotes wellness and engagement for children.
Key Responsibilities- Build Meaningful Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, while exemplifying the YMCA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the four-character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
- Implement Curriculum: Implement age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate program activities, while ensuring consistency and stability in the classroom.
- Supervise and Support: Supervise children, classroom, and activities, while making ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- Communicate Effectively: Conduct parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents, engaging them as volunteers.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Maintain program site and equipment, while adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Attend Training and Meetings: Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).

- Minimum Qualifications: Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:
- Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Health form completed within the 30 days of hire date; renewed every 3 years.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Preferred Level Qualifications: A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience, ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities, and 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
