Your Role:

The Patient Care Coordinator is tasked with assisting patients in navigating their insurance needs, scheduling essential appointments, and addressing any inquiries, concerns, or feedback from patients and their families. This role advocates for patients in resolving issues and collaborates with staff to enhance services.

Your Contributions to the Team:

Acts as a liaison among the insurance provider, the patient, and the healthcare provider, effectively communicating insurance benefits and requirements.Handles non-clinical inquiries from patients and directs other calls appropriately.Coordinates office appointments and surgical procedures efficiently.Prepares patient documentation prior to visits and updates patient information in the electronic tracking system.Contacts insurance providers to secure referral numbers or pre-authorizations as required and manages the filing of referrals and authorizations.Offers personalized support and guidance to patients, ensuring timely responses to their inquiries and concerns.Guides patients to the appropriate specialists and service providers based on their insurance plans.Collects and organizes necessary medical records from specialists or hospitals to facilitate referrals and authorizations, following up with insurance companies regarding authorization statuses.Engages in patient education initiatives and events.
Qualifications for Success:

Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
+ Proficiency with computer systems is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with the healthcare sector and medical terminology is advantageous.
+ Willingness to assist in other practices as needed based on patient volume and scheduling.
