Job Title: Patient Services Specialist II

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist II to join our Primary Care team in Kissimmee, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate registration and scheduling processes, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Respond to phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, triage calls, and handle them appropriately.
  • Registration: Collect, maintain, and ensure accuracy of patient information through standard business practices.
  • Scheduling: Understand visit types, templates, and fundamentals of scheduling office visits, manage no-show and cancellation processes, and confirm appointments with patients/guardians.
  • Financial: Collect, verify, and maintain patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals, and collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances on accounts.
  • Communication: Triage and manage electronic communication daily, scan new paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and task the physician responsible for reviewing or place information with the patient chart.
  • Release of Information: Coordinate the release of information and medical record process, process incoming and outgoing medical record requests, and ensure coding information is complete on billing documents.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Specialized training beyond high school.
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience preferred.
  • Customer Service and Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Medical Office/Call Center experience preferred.
  • Travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage is required.
