Certified Nursing Assistant for Educational Support

Compensation: $19 - $22/HR
The role of the School Aide/CNA involves collaborating with students who require instructional, personal care, and behavioral support under the guidance of the special education department or designated supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives, focusing on subjects such as math, reading, and speech, while managing behavioral challenges either individually or in a classroom setting.
- Assist in teacher-led educational activities, including lesson planning, creating worksheets, and facilitating small group interactions.
- Support students integrated into general education classes.
- Relay important information to educators regarding student progress and needs.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and community outings.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning all student-related matters, adhering to professional standards.
- Assist with prescribed activities from related service personnel, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology.
- Help students develop independence through self-care routines, including hygiene and dressing.
- Provide personal care services, including health-related tasks and assistance with feeding.
- Support behavior management strategies as directed by educational professionals.
- Assist teachers with clerical tasks, such as preparing materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
- Adherence to all relevant professional standards.
- Completion of Amergis' Competency program, if applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if required.
- Completion of TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if necessary.
- Valid health certificate as per state regulations.
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training specific to the job site.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
General Information:
- Full-time position.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday.
- Involves both one-on-one and classroom assignments.
- Transportation may be necessary for certain assignments.
