Position Title: Part-Time Counselor

About the Role: The Counselor plays a crucial role within the Alcohol & Drug Program (ADP) team, delivering the Safety Center's DUI curriculum aimed at encouraging clients to adopt constructive behavioral changes.

Position Availability: We offer on-call, part-time, and full-time positions. A comprehensive benefits package is available for part-time and full-time employees after completing one full month of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current AOD Counselor certification and CEUs as mandated by Title 9.
  • Conduct client intakes, clarify client contracts, assess client needs, enroll clients in suitable programs, establish payment plans, and process payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare necessary documentation such as DL107 and proof of enrollment certificates.
  • Monitor client attendance and issue completion certificates or notify the courts regarding non-compliance as required.
  • Facilitate educational groups and conduct face-to-face interviews utilizing ASI assessment tools and the Safety Center's Curriculum in compliance with Title 9 Programs or Drug Diversion Standards.
  • Provide counseling to individuals facing substance abuse challenges through DMV or court-mandated programs and refer clients to additional support and employment services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with court requirements, Title 9, and the Safety Center's curriculum.
  • Evaluate clients' progress to ensure successful program completion.
  • Compile and maintain precise records of business transactions, office activities, and counseling sessions to ensure favorable outcomes during internal and external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid California license or certification: MFT, SUDCC, RADT/CADC, or CATC for AOD counselor.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Proficiency in using internet software, including Zoom and video conferencing tools.
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment, including internet and email, copy and fax machines, postage meters, and telephones.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their current California AOD Counselor Certificate.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, On-Call

Compensation: $27.00 per hour for full-time positions; $25.00 hourly for part-time roles.
