The Clinical Support Technician II is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our Neurosurgery/ENT Acute Care Unit at UNC Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Critically review patient care documentation, identifying any significant changes in the patient's condition and reporting to registered nurses or physicians promptly.
- Provide a range of clerical tasks, including organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, researching information as requested by nurses and physicians, and maintaining medical records.
- Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including PI audits and data entry, to optimize our healthcare services.
- Assist with direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation, as outlined in the plan of care.
- Measure and record vital signs, patient height, and weight, and perform various clinical procedures, such as specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, and catheter care.
- Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.
- High School diploma or GED
- Listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience
This is a 36 hours per week position, working 12-hour rotating shifts with some flexibility, and with weekend and holiday rotation. We offer an extensive benefit package, including PTO hours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours.
