Job Summary

The Precision Assembler will be responsible for preparing and documenting assembly work, as well as assembling various equipment and tools, and performing necessary testing. This position will also be responsible for disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and assembly during any repair processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Testing: Complete assemblies according to blueprints, instructions, and work orders, conducting tests when necessary.
  • Inspection and Quality Control: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of inspection equipment, their functions, and uses to ensure all parts and assemblies meet specifications.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure all parts and components are clean before assembly and that assemblies are completed correctly, following all assembly procedures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot assembly problems and possess a keen eye for detail and results-oriented approach.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities as needed and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings, safety standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Reporting and Communication: Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Customer Service: Exhibit a customer service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: HS Diploma / GED and/or 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: General education certificate or vocational training, shop experience, experience with precision measurement tools, experience in reading blueprints.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer literacy to use/learn data input systems and utilize Microsoft Office suite. ERP system such as SAP or similar.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic mathematical functions, including rate, ratio, and percentage and to convert one measurement type to another.
