Position Summary

A Wealth Management Consultant at Shell Federal Credit Union plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial trajectories of our community and members. By fostering strong relationships and leveraging advanced technology, you will partner with Shell Federal Credit Union and our broker/dealer to provide tailored financial solutions for every life stage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consistently uphold all Game Changer Commitments and Shell FCU Service Distinctions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and adhere to all relevant regulations and compliance standards, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Participate in mandatory annual training sessions as scheduled.
  • Execute job functions in alignment with Shell FCU's procedures, philosophy, and performance standards.
  • Ensure all necessary FINRA and other licenses are current and complete all assigned compliance training.
  • Exhibit high standards of business ethics and legal compliance while engaging with clients and conducting work-related activities.
  • Organize and conduct meetings with potential and existing clients to identify their financial objectives and develop strategies to meet those goals.
  • Create written plans to monitor progress against objectives, conducting quarterly reviews and implementing agreed-upon strategies in areas such as protection, taxation, investments, cash management, and liabilities.
  • Utilize regular meetings to assess client progress and, when necessary, adjust resources or investments to keep clients on track.
  • Build meaningful relationships with clients and develop a service model that aligns with their financial aspirations.
  • Meet or exceed performance standards, with opportunities for additional compensation and recognition based on results.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance industry knowledge, product expertise, sales, and service skills.
  • Generate leads through various channels, including internal prospecting, training sessions, referrals, local seminars, and online marketing.
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to attract and engage target audiences, enhancing client acquisition.
  • Contact clients to verify account-level information, including liquidity needs and risk tolerance, for suitability assessments.
  • Provide accurate price quotes for stocks and other market-based products.
  • Draft client summary communications, including investment balances and returns, prior to and following client meetings.
  • Process requests for transferring securities and cash as directed by clients.
  • Confirm account information and prepare necessary documentation for withdrawal requests.
  • Initiate Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) instructions when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, follow-up appointments, and review dates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a proven track record.
  • Required Licenses:
    • FINRA Series 7
    • State Securities (Series 63 or Series 66)
    • State IAR (Series 65 or Series 66)
    • State Life, Health Insurance, and Variable Products licenses
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Willingness to engage in a coaching and peer learning environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information to provide effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and comfortable in an open workspace.
