Objective

LogixHealth is in search of a Patient Support Specialist to join our dedicated Patient Call Center team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive professional and courteous assistance while delivering exceptional service to our patients through various communication channels including phone, fax, and mail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a significant volume of incoming calls from patients, providing outstanding customer service while adhering to company standards for response times.
  • Check voicemail messages and return patient calls within a 24-hour timeframe, conducting necessary research for inquiries.
  • Address patient requests via telephone, fax, or email; assess the request, supply the required information, or direct it to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inform patients of their claim balances upon request.
  • Update patient insurance details in the system and reprocess claims with the new insurance provider. Update patient addresses in the system as requested.
  • Conduct daily mailings of correspondence to patients and HCFA claim forms.

Education

A High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Technical Skills

Experience with MS Office is essential, particularly proficiency in Excel and Word, alongside data entry capabilities and familiarity with relevant data collection software and internet applications.

Experience

Preferred candidates will have one to two years of relevant call center experience; customer service experience is mandatory.

  • Ability to engage in phone conversations, resolve issues, and input data into the client software simultaneously.
  • Possess a pleasant and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety guidelines and procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions.
  • Skill in addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, use hands, communicate verbally, listen, and occasionally walk or reach.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
