Objective
LogixHealth is in search of a Patient Support Specialist to join our Patient Call Center. This role is essential in representing our clients with professionalism and courtesy while delivering support and services to our patients through various communication channels including telephone, fax, and mail.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a substantial volume of incoming calls from patients, ensuring a high standard of customer service while adhering to company response time metrics.
- Access and respond to voice messages promptly, returning patient calls within a 24-hour timeframe, and conducting necessary research for inquiries.
- Address patient requests via telephone, fax, or email; evaluate the request, provide the needed information, or identify the appropriate personnel to assist and direct the request accordingly.
- Inform patients of their claim balances upon request.
- Update patient insurance details in the system and process re-billing to the new insurance provider. Additionally, update patient addresses as needed.
- Conduct daily mailings of correspondence to patients and HCFA claim forms.
Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each responsibility effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Education
A High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Technical Skills
Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, along with data entry capabilities, and proficiency in utilizing relevant data collection software and internet applications is necessary.
Experience
Preferred candidates will have one to two years of relevant call center experience; customer service experience is mandatory.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Capability to engage in simultaneous phone conversations, troubleshoot issues, and input data into the client software database.
- A pleasant telephone demeanor is essential.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
- Competence in reading and interpreting various documents, including safety protocols and procedural manuals.
- Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions.
- Skill in managing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
- Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods, utilize hands, communicate verbally, and occasionally walk or reach with hands or arms.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
