Job Overview

Vicarious Surgical is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to lead our electrical design and testing efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Design and Testing: Oversee and conduct electrical testing and verification activities, including design verification, validation testing, and performance testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Test Planning and Documentation: Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive test plans, protocols, and documentation for electrical design and testing processes.
  • Design Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve electrical design issues throughout the product lifecycle, including troubleshooting complex problems and working with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Electrical Hardware Design: Specify, design, and evaluate electrical hardware for advanced robotic systems, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Embedded Engineers to address processing and sensing requirements, and with QA teams to support regulatory documentation and testing.
  • Component Selection and Design: Oversee component selection, schematic capture, and board layout using Altium.
  • Board Testing and Diagnostics: Develop board testers and production test equipment, and perform board failure diagnostics.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design and testing, with a strong background in the medical device industry and familiarity with Class II or III devices (IEC 60601).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills preferable, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
