Role Overview

We are seeking a talented engineer to join our dynamic design team, focusing on the architecture, design, implementation, and integration of baseband systems across all Apple products. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of computer system architecture and digital design principles, and will engage proactively with various engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

This position falls within the Hardware Technology group, specializing in the digital and power management aspects of wireless chipsets from initial concept through to product launch. Your contributions will include:

  • Collaborating with leading architects and IC designers during the architectural phase of next-generation chipsets, specifically in Power, Digital, and Clock management.
  • Driving the schematic design, layout, and bring-up processes for both development and production hardware.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and coexistence issues that arise from the scale and complexity of Apple products.
  • Leveraging support from our world-class contract manufacturers during prototype development.
  • Engaging in extensive cross-functional collaboration with teams focused on SoC, battery, and sensor technologies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the product ecosystem beyond wireless design.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, layout design, and review processes.
  • Experience in mobile platform system design, system integration, and/or high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with voltage regulators, LDOs, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
  • Experience with high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, SPMI, I2C, and UART.
  • Hands-on design verification experience using high-speed oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of signal and power integrity simulation tools like Matlab, PowerSI, SIwave, and HFSS.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
