Job Summary

The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President of Maintenance. This role will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling meetings, preparing Commission packet items and reports, and maintaining the Vice President's calendar of appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, interviews, and appointments for the Vice President of Maintenance
  • Prepare and distribute reports, agendas, and other materials as directed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems and records
  • Screen phone calls, visitors, and correspondence for the Vice President of Maintenance
  • Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Assist with monthly expense reports and other financial tasks
  • Communicate with vendors, inspectors, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience in an office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with people from varied backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to exhibit discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential matters
  • Proficiency in YARDI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Extremely detail-oriented with impeccable follow-through
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
