Position Summary
The IT Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in steering the planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects, as well as facilitating both technical and non-technical changes throughout the organization for significant business system implementations or enhancements. This position will collaborate with internal IT teams, business leaders, third-party vendors, and various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed successfully by applying effective management practices and showcasing leadership in problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking throughout the project lifecycle. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring that our IT operations not only fulfill but surpass the expectations of our evolving business landscape. This role will be crucial in aligning IT operational functions to enhance efficiency and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance, direction, and oversight across essential IT operational functions, including project management, logistics, support services, and transformation initiatives. Ensure these areas work in harmony to achieve the organization's objectives.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategic plans aimed at improving IT operational efficiency, service delivery, and infrastructure reliability. Collaborate closely with IT leaders to ensure alignment of IT operations strategy with broader business goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and nurture a high-performing team of IT Operations specialists. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and innovation within the IT operations team.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the IT operations team provides outstanding service management, encompassing incident, problem, change, and service level management. Initiate projects that enhance system uptime, data security, and overall IT service delivery.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders. Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Project Management Oversight: Supervise IT project management activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Advocate for the adoption of best practices in project management and agile methodologies.
  • Innovation and Transformation: Lead IT transformation efforts by identifying and implementing innovative technologies and processes that improve business operations and enhance IT service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of extensive experience in IT operations management.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning and execution, with a proven ability to align IT operations with business objectives.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Effective vendor management and negotiation expertise.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL, and experience managing service level agreements (SLAs).
  • A proven track record of over 7 years in managing IT transformation projects and implementing or enhancing innovative technology solutions.
  • Certifications related to IT operations management, project management, IT service management (e.g., ITIL Foundation), or cloud technologies are advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing and walking on job sites with uneven terrain may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 25% travel may be necessary to engage with project stakeholders and other offices.
