This position will remain open until filled. As a Per Diem Front Desk Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, performing a variety of clerical and receptionist duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, check-in and check-out procedures, multi-specialty clinic appointment scheduling, insurance and authorization verification, updating patient demographics, auditing billing documents, disposition appointments, co-pay collection, managing/monitoring petty cash drawer, and working closely as a resource for managers, physicians, nurses, staff, and other UCSDH departments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff
- Manage patient flow and coordinate appointments
- Verify insurance and authorization information
- Update patient demographics and maintain accurate records
- Process billing documents and manage petty cash
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Minimum of three years of related experience in a large complex healthcare setting
- Prior scheduling experience
- Proven knowledge of third-party payors, including federal, state, and private health plans
- Strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, including Outlook Email, Outlook Calendar, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- EPIC-Cadence, EMR, Template, and scheduling experience
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic
- Authorization and registration experience
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
- May be required to float to other sites to provide coverage as needed
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $68,883 - $68,883 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.99
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
