Volante of Hanover is seeking a dedicated Medication Administration Specialist to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver essential care and medication support to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the administration of medications while ensuring the security and accountability of all medications during your shift.
- Conduct inventory checks of controlled substances and ensure accurate reconciliation of stock. Collaborate with a colleague to count controlled substances whenever the responsibility for medication administration shifts.
- Perform weekly checks to confirm that residents authorized to self-administer their medications are doing so correctly and, when applicable, are completing the medication administration record.
- Assist in reviewing medication records for any discrepancies.
- Organize and participate in recreational activities to promote social interaction and camaraderie among residents.
- Collaborate with the Dining Services team to support related tasks.
- Provide assistance or reminders for daily living activities, including personal grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and facilitating transfers to and from activities and meals as necessary.
- Contribute to maintaining a pleasant environment through general housekeeping duties, ensuring that residents' living spaces are clean, safe, and orderly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a medication technician in a comparable setting.
- Certification in accordance with state regulations.
- A flexible, adaptable nature and a positive attitude.
