Candidate Profile


This role necessitates a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, with consideration for other engineering disciplines based on relevant experience.

A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in a similar role is essential.

Familiarity with SAP systems (Work Orders and Purchase to Pay) is advantageous.

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment documentation, plant specifications, and Management of Change (MOC) processes is required.

Demonstrated expertise in pumps, gearboxes, compressors, heat exchangers, turbomachinery, boilers, heaters, motors, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and instrumentation is crucial.

The candidate must be capable of managing small to medium-scale unplanned outages (ranging from $100K to $2M), which includes the ability to mobilize and coordinate resources swiftly.


Key Responsibilities


Conduct daily reviews of unit operations, collaborating with unit supervisors, maintenance coordinators, and area engineers to identify deviations from established maintenance standards or practices.

Provide the necessary technical support to ensure the production of high-quality products.


Engage in daily communication regarding priorities and actions stemming from alignment meetings with the Business Team Leader, HSSE, Inspections, and Engineering.


Analyze the root causes of equipment failures, particularly premature failures, and propose design or operational modifications to enhance equipment reliability.

Assist in organizing and updating maintenance records, drawing files, and specification sheets with the support of administrative staff.


Review spare parts inventory in the warehouse as needed to ensure availability for maintenance activities.

Ensure that Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules are established and coordinated through the field service coordinator. Monitor conditions and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for specialized equipment on a weekly basis.


Stay informed about equipment issues that may hinder plant productivity or efficiency and take prompt action to address these concerns.

Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for daily maintenance activities within the assigned area, providing necessary technical assistance to maintenance personnel.


Work Environment


This position reports to the Site Maintenance Manager.

Provide support and backup for team members during absences (e.g., vacations, training).

Engage directly with specialized contractors (e.g., chillers, air compressors, heaters, boilers).


At least 50% of the time will be spent in the field or maintenance shop, observing pump rebuilds, major equipment overhauls, and field operations.

Document all equipment inspections or repairs conducted in the assigned area.


Contribute to turnaround planning by addressing scope and technical inquiries, assisting with manpower allocation, and recommending the optimal number of craftsmen required.

Participate in turnaround execution as assigned.
