Overview:

The Janitorial Services Specialist plays a crucial role in upholding standards and policies in alignment with the Head Start Performance Standards, Field Operations Manager, Policy Council, and Director of Early Education and Care.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Center Manager, the specialist is tasked with ensuring a hygienic and secure environment for children and their families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Executing cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
  • Overseeing the inventory of cleaning materials.
  • Arranging spaces for various functions.
  • Conducting minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Securing the premises at the start and conclusion of each day.
  • Monitoring and managing heating and cooling systems.
ADDITIONAL TASKS:

Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma or equivalent along with six months of experience in custodial or maintenance roles.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Physical capability to perform a range of tasks.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning methods.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance repairs.
