Role Overview:

This position is dedicated to fostering engaging interactions that identify member needs, inspire innovative solutions, provide financial literacy, and deliver tailored services to enhance our members' financial well-being. With a strong commitment to shaping a brighter financial future for our members, the Financial Solutions Specialist (FSS) will recommend pertinent products and services to assist our members in achieving their financial aspirations. The FSS will cultivate and enhance member relationships by delivering an exceptional member experience. Adaptability, forward-thinking, and a collaborative spirit are the cornerstones of our Financial Solutions Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote a culture of quality service and solutions through enthusiastic member interactions both in-branch and via phone.
  • Develop supportive and productive long-term member relationships built on rapport, trust, and professionalism.
  • Warmly greet and engage with members as they enter the Credit Union.
  • Utilize active listening and meaningful dialogue to uncover member needs and financial objectives.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance member loyalty through industry-leading products and services.
  • Strengthen member relationships by evaluating their financial health and providing education and solutions to foster financial success.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in a dynamic and high-volume environment.
  • Educate and assist members in utilizing LGE technology for transaction completion.
  • Accurately process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance by balancing collected negotiable items daily.
  • Open various membership accounts, including deposit, specialty, and business accounts.
  • Address account issues and discrepancies, providing effective solutions and alternatives.
  • Gather necessary application information and documentation to ensure accurate loan origination and closure.
  • Exercise sound judgment in loan origination by providing clear and detailed notes with loan applications.
  • Review credit reports to identify additional opportunities such as new shares, auto refinancing, debt consolidation, credit cards, and mortgage loans.
  • Ensure that applications and supporting documentation are complete prior to closing loans, deposit accounts, or related products/services.
  • Meet or exceed established individual and team service and sales goals.
  • Assist with daily branch operations to create an optimal branch environment and experience.
  • Exhibit positive behaviors that foster high morale, cooperation, and enthusiasm.
  • Remain vigilant and report any potentially suspicious or fraudulent activities to prevent losses.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge to effectively address routine and complex inquiries regarding LGE products and services, branch policies, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to achieving expert-level knowledge of the FSS role through LGE's Universal Agent Training Program.
  • Support the LGE Contact Center by assisting members via phone on assigned Saturdays.
  • Participate in and contribute to business development and community outreach initiatives.
  • Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, including but not limited to the Privacy Act, OFAC, BSA, Reg. CC, and the Patriot Act.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: 1+ years of customer service and/or sales experience.
  • Required: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: Basic understanding of computer operations and software.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in retail, credit union, or financial services.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to cross-sell products and services effectively.
  • Proficient in gathering, interpreting, and resolving complex issues.
  • Flexibility to support other branch locations as needed.
  • Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to understand lending practices, including credit bureau report interpretation, underwriting criteria, and basic lending philosophy.
