Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Material Operator to join our team at Builders FirstSource. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to safely operate boom and crane equipment, move heavy construction materials, and perform pre-operational inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate boom and/or crane equipment to move heavy construction materials into specific areas of the yard or onto delivery trucks.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance of boom/crane equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage.
  • Moves material into specific areas of the yard or hoist material onto the delivery truck.
  • Ride along with Driver to assist in the unloading of material at the customer site.
  • Calculates the boom/crane capacities and weights and checks clearances to prevent damage during operation.
  • Plans and paces own work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, project, or team-related productivity goals.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and two years of boom and/or crane operation experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Boom or Crane Operator certification required.
