Job Overview

Kiewit's Northwest District is seeking a seasoned Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction to lead construction projects in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop Kiewit staff, promoting a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Review and approve labor rates, ensuring effective contract administration.
  • Manage field operations, including subcontractor management and communication.
  • Develop strategies to maintain strong client relationships and resolve issues promptly.
  • Oversee job cost updates, quarterly cash flow projections, and change order negotiations.
  • Implement project completion plans, ensuring timely turnover.
  • Record keeping and performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Promote organizational, policy, and procedural improvements.
  • Approve promotions up to General Foremen.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' construction experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role, overseeing projects like roads, bridges, dams, and water treatment plants.
  • Background in heavy civil construction with knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving, and signage.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise craft performance, read drawings, and interpret specifications.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to relocate temporarily or permanently as needed.
  • Strong work ethic, passion for excellence, and commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize safety, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with organization, time management, and attention to detail.
