About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team at Outside Chief Legal LLC. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys and paralegals in protecting and promoting our clients' interests.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, and appointments
  • Coordinating office communications and administrative activities, such as answering phones, sorting mail, and creating and scanning copies
  • Recording attorney time into the computer system
  • Organizing case and business files to ensure attorneys have the information they need
  • Drafting initial client bills for attorney approval and sending approved bills to clients
  • Document preparation, including drafting and proofreading legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and contracts
  • Research support, including conducting legal research as needed with guidance from attorneys and paralegals
  • Administrative duties, including arranging travel, scheduling meetings and appointments, and coordinating with outside vendors for events
  • Client interaction, including building and maintaining relationships with clients and other parties through phone, email, and in-person communication
  • Task management, including managing priorities, task lists, and schedules for attorneys to meet client, court, and management objectives

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or some college; high school diploma or equivalent GED required
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment as a legal assistant
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and popular apps, such as Google Calendar and Outlook
  • Ability to use law management software to process legal documents, conduct research, and manage the law firm's administrative operations
  • High-level organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Minimum 2 years of law firm experience required
