USA Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing and delivering medications to patients, ensuring accurate and timely dispensing of medications, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and deliver medications to patients using various transport mechanisms under the direction of a pharmacist.
• Fill stat medication orders and prepare medication carts for distribution.
• Operate and maintain equipment, reporting any malfunctions or broken equipment to the pharmacy team.
• Use a computer to access the hospital's information system (HIS) or the pharmacy purchasing system.
• Restock work areas by transferring stock or filling carts/drawers, including emergency stock.
• Maintain current and adequate medication and supply levels.
• Utilize correct documentation tools and procedures for all pharmacy functions and maintain accurate and complete records.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and supply areas.
• Adhere to current Infection Control and Safety Standards and abide by all compliance requirements and hospital policies, including confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and healthcare team members in person and via telephone, and respond to overhead pages.
• Regularly attend work and be available to work assigned shifts, including overtime and call.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registry with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Completion of an ALBOP-approved hospital technician training course within six months of registration.
• Experience is preferred.
