At Soho House & Co., the role of a Maitre'D is centered around a deep commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality. This position entails overseeing the Host and Reception teams, ensuring that every guest enjoys a delightful and memorable experience. The Maitre'D is also instrumental in onboarding and training new staff members on reservation management, restaurant protocols, and service procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a constant presence on the floor to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Support and uphold operational standards while adapting to changes and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Supervise the Host and Reception teams, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance member and guest relations.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and maintain departmental procedures.
  • Review reservations to identify special guest requirements and ensure their needs are met.
  • Address guest disputes and claims promptly, ensuring clear communication of next steps.
  • Keep all systems updated with accurate information, adhering to Soho House standards and compliance regulations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead and cultivate a welcoming and engaging atmosphere within the Reception Team.
  • Experience with OpenTable, Salesforce, and Opera systems is required.
  • Skilled in managing high-volume phone inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
