Omnitrans Inc. is currently in search of a Trade Compliance Advisor to support our Customs Brokerage division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance to our Importer clients regarding their Customs and trade operations.
  • Effectively address and resolve customer inquiries and disputes related to tariff classification and claims.
  • Conduct thorough research on Customs regulatory matters.
  • Provide accurate classification and tariff treatment opinions; maintain and update client product profiles.
  • Assist management in continuous improvement efforts and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with clients to optimize their Drawback programs, including Waivers of Prior Notice and Accelerated Payment.
  • Facilitate the export of goods under Drawback, coordinating necessary inspections or destruction under Customs oversight.
  • Review drawback entries prior to final submission for accuracy.
  • Support and consult during Drawback audits.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Consulting on PGA matters (APHIS, CPSC, FDA, FWS, etc.)
    • Post summary corrections
    • NAFTA claims and Protests
    • Handling superseding bonds and standard audits
    • USMCA & TPL audits
    • Processing increased duty bills
    • Reconciliation submissions
    • Managing Temporary Import Bonds & NAFTA Duty Deferral
    • Consulting on seizure and detention notices
    • Preparing binding ruling requests
    • Conducting mock audits
    • Supporting Prior Disclosure initiatives

Qualifications:

  • A University degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant Customs Operations experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations and the United States Code.
  • Proven classification and appraisement skills with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Business and trading practices.
  • Excellent research abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to negotiate and foster strong trade relationships.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel features.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
