Location: Various locations in the NY City area.

This role is essential in delivering outstanding Customs Consulting Services while ensuring adherence to trade regulations and corporate standards. Responsibilities include processing and filing drawback claims and collaborating with clients to enhance their Drawback programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance to Importer clients regarding Customs and trade practices.
  • Effectively resolve customer issues and disputes, including tariff classification and claims.
  • Conduct thorough research on Customs regulatory matters.
  • Provide accurate classification and tariff treatment opinions; maintain customer product profiles.
  • Assist management with initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and audit readiness.
  • Support clients in maintaining and enhancing their Drawback initiatives.
  • Coordinate the export of goods under Drawback, ensuring compliance with Customs regulations.
  • Audit drawback entries prior to final submission.
  • Provide consulting support for Drawback audits.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Consulting on PGA matters (APHIS, CPSC, FDA, FWS, etc.)
  • Post summary corrections
  • NAFTA claims and Protests
  • Processing of superseding bonds
  • Conducting audits and reconciliations
  • Consulting on Seizure and detention notices
  • Preparing binding ruling requests
  • Supporting Prior Disclosure initiatives

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • 3+ years of relevant Customs Operations experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Proficient in classification and appraisement with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of International Business and trading practices.
  • Excellent research abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build trade relationships.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel features.
  • Attention to detail and solid interpersonal skills.
  • Customs clearance experience is advantageous.
