BioLegend, a division of Revvity, Inc., is seeking a Sustainability and Safety Specialist. This role is essential in supporting laboratory operations through various environmental health and safety programs. The Specialist will ensure compliance with company policies and regulations while effectively managing emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Environmental Health and Safety team in preparing necessary documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Support the documentation process for hazardous waste management.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records and deliver training sessions for staff.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Provide expert advice on matters related to environmental health and safety.
  • Document safety concerns and develop action plans.
  • Perform regular safety inspections across various facilities.
  • Ensure the maintenance and accessibility of Safety Data Sheets.
  • Support hazardous waste management initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison among different departments.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings.
  • Oversee the upkeep of safety equipment.
  • Occasional travel within the San Diego area.
  • Engage in additional projects or responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in safety management.
  • Relevant coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Regulatory Law, and Safety.
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
  • Certifications such as GSP, ASP, IH, or similar.
  • HAZWOPER certification.
  • DOT and IATA certifications.
The salary range for this full-time position is between $68,000 and $80,000 annually. This range does not include bonuses, equity, or additional benefits.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Office

Work primarily in an office environment with occasional exposure to laboratory and warehouse settings.

Lab

Engage in laboratory work with periodic exposure to warehouse conditions.

Warehouse

Function in a warehouse environment with occasional laboratory exposure.
