Job Summary

The Project Accountant is a key member of the construction project team, responsible for providing financial support and ensuring the accurate tracking of project costs. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the project management team and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial support to the project management team, including preparing and reviewing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of project costs, including managing contracts, bonds, insurance, payables, liens, and billings.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and resolve financial issues, and implement process improvements to enhance financial management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including handling mail, establishing new supplier accounts, and preparing payroll.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years or more of accountant experience, preferably in the A/E/C industry.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting principles and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
  • Associates in Accounting or related field preferred.
