Job Summary

The Employee Family Protection organization is seeking a skilled Benefits Counselor/Enroller to educate union members about voluntary benefit plans and facilitate enrollment in elected programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benefits Education and Enrollment: Educate union members about voluntary benefit plans, communicate available programs to eligible members, and assist with enrollment in elected benefits through various platforms.
  • Training and Development: Participate in case, enrollment, product, and systems training to stay up-to-date on benefit programs and enrollment processes.
  • Data Management: Accurately and thoroughly complete and submit all applications in compliance with data entry and data privacy policies and regulations.
  • Professional Conduct: Conduct all business and actions according to the highest possible standards of professional conduct, maintaining confidences and protecting confidential and proprietary information obtained in the course of employment.
Requirements
  • Educational Requirements: High school diploma required.
  • Active State License: Active state life and health insurance license required.
  • Experience Requirements: Insurance background and/or voluntary benefits experience strongly preferred. Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, databases, and web-based contact management systems.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make recommendations. Reliable, professional, attention to detail, able to work with diverse groups of clients and staff, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and flexibility to manage changing parameters and timelines.
