Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Diesel Technology Adjunct to join our team at Tidewater Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in diesel technology, including medium and heavy truck repair and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to students in a classroom, remote, or online environment.
  • Develop and implement course materials, assessments, and evaluations to promote student learning and success.
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress and mastery of course learning outcomes.
  • Engage with students outside of class through office hours and other means.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in diesel technology.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in teaching field or related field, or Associate degree with demonstrated competency in teaching field.
  • ASE certification in medium/heavy truck technician areas being taught.
  • Recent diesel training with a transcript or certification from the program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in diesel training programs.
  • Virginia State Inspection license.
  • Refrigerant Recovery License.
  • Teaching experience at the college level.
  • Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems.
