Job Title: Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems. As a Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to ensure their equipment is well-maintained and safe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer sites to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks, such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating and replacing vehicle components, and performing electrical system repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including work orders and electronic documentation.
  • Partner with the service manager to learn new skills and stay up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques.

Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
  • 3 years of MIG and stick welding experience.
  • 3 years of automotive electrical experience.
  • 3 years of diesel engine repair experience preferred.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a DOT physical, including drug screening.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift and move more than 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
  • Possess a working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
