Job Title: Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic

At Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems, we're seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our mobile service team, you'll be responsible for traveling to customer sites to ensure their equipment is well-maintained and safe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer sites to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment.
  • Use Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs.
  • Complete preventative maintenance repairs, including replacing or rotating tires, lubricating and replacing vehicle components, and performing electrical system repairs and cooling system maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including electronic documentation of work orders.
  • Partner with the service manager to learn new skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

Requirements:
  • 3 years' experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
  • 3 years' MIG and stick welding experience.
  • 3 years' automotive electrical experience.
  • 3 years' diesel engine repair experience preferred.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a DOT physical, including drug screening.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift and move more than 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
  • Possess a working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
