Key Responsibilities

Peraton is on the lookout for a Senior Corporate Counsel to enhance its operational framework. This role will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel for Business Operations and will collaborate closely with sector leadership and the Legal Department, providing guidance on internal processes, particularly in government contracting, data privacy, cybersecurity, and international compliance.

Core Responsibilities Include:
  • Government Contracting - Collaborate with the Legal Department, Contracts, Procurement, and sector leadership to facilitate the company's contracting and procurement functions. This includes offering advice on contract negotiations, subcontracting, teaming agreements, claims, disputes, bid protests, and organizational conflict of interest issues.
  • Data Privacy and Cybersecurity - Provide legal counsel on privacy and data protection for our operations both domestically and internationally. This involves ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and international laws, developing privacy policies, and addressing emerging issues such as artificial intelligence. Legal support will also extend to incident responses, data mapping, risk assessments, and training initiatives.
  • International and Trade Compliance - Advise on international business operations, ensuring adherence to local laws, import/export regulations, including ITAR and EAR, and economic sanctions.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 16 years of overall professional experience, including at least 14 years with a J.D., and a minimum of 5 years specializing in federal procurement. Significant in-house experience in federal contracting, trade compliance, and privacy/cybersecurity is highly desirable, along with strong academic credentials.

Bar: Juris Doctor and active membership in good standing with the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Security clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000, reflecting the typical compensation for this role based on experience and other relevant factors.
