Academic Coach

Leading & Learning, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Coach to join our team. As an Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve academic success and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized coaching to 7-10 students, totaling approximately hours per week.
- Maintain detailed notes and reports on student performance on a daily and weekly basis.
- Help students create a weekly plan to address all upcoming assignments and excel in their courses.
- Assess strengths, weaknesses, accommodations, and learning styles to create a personalized plan.
- Review student courses looking for upcoming and missing assignments as well as record grades as they are received.
- Regularly review student portals to stay ahead of any potential missing work or failing grades.
- Reinforce executive functioning skills such as organization, prioritization, task initiation, and self-regulation.
- Create a regular schedule with your students and encourage consistency.
- Identify what interferes with each client's ability to perform in school.
- Create a plan to teach students the skills needed to perform in school.
- Create action plans with students to tackle their course load.
- Establish achievable goals – both short-term and long-term.
- Offer guidance and support as a mentor by building trust and camaraderie.
- Encourage connections with other students, campus resources, and in-house tutoring and consulting services.
- Communicate pertinent information with the Shepherding team regarding student progress and academics.
- Communicate with parents about the student's plan and academic updates.
- Communicate with our tutoring team to facilitate acquiring tutors for your students.
- Communicate with your student at least once every day during the week.
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of two years of experience in executive function coaching and mentoring, preferably in a secondary or higher education setting.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities and familiarity with psychoeducational evaluations.
- Ability to build rapport with students and establish a supportive relationship.
- Highly organized and efficient while maintaining efficacy.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaborating with others.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to student success.
- Ability to learn and adapt to the different requirements, software platforms, and learning management systems.
