Job Summary:
The Elementary Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the overall responsibility for the elementary program at Shining Stars. This position assumes responsibility for creating, sustaining, and nurturing an engaging educational environment true to the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Develop and implement curriculum plans and activities that support the academic and social-emotional growth of students in the elementary program.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of guides, specialists, and assistants to ensure the effective implementation of the elementary program.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching and mentoring to guides and assistants to support their professional growth and development.
- Assessment and Data Analysis: Lead the administration of assessments and data analysis to inform instruction and program development.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with the Principal and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the school.
- Event Planning: Assist the Principal in planning and executing school events, such as Back to School Night, Mother's Day Tea, and Curriculum Nights.
- Volunteer Management: Direct and engage volunteers in support of school events and programs.
- Newsletter and Communication: Assist the Principal in monitoring the quality of the monthly classroom newsletter and incorporating information for weekly News & Notes.
- Academic Team Meetings: Create the agenda and lead the weekly elementary academic team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Early Education or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a school administrator, such as a preschool Coordinator, school Coordinator, program Coordinator, or vice/assistant principal.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to guide, inspire, coach, and mentor teachers.
- Supervisory Skills: Ability to effectively manage a team to fulfill common goals and work individually with teachers to meet defined objectives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written skills, including public speaking.
