Job Summary

Leading & Learning, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Academic Coach to join our team. As an Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve academic success by providing individualized coaching, executive functioning support, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Individualized Coaching: Meet with students on a regular basis to develop strategies for organization, time management, goal setting, and study habits.
  • Executive Functioning Support: Reinforce executive functioning skills such as organization, prioritization, task initiation, and self-regulation.
  • Goal Setting: Create action plans with students to tackle their course load and establish achievable goals – both short-term and long-term.
  • Mentorship: Offer guidance and support as a mentor by building trust and camaraderie with students.
  • Communication: Communicate pertinent information with the Shepherding team regarding student progress and academics, as well as communicate with parents and the tutoring team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in executive function coaching and mentoring, preferably in a secondary or higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and familiarity with psychoeducational evaluations.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and establish a supportive relationship.
  • Highly organized and efficient while maintaining efficacy.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaborating with others.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to the different requirements, software platforms, and learning management systems.
