Role Overview:

The Investment Accounting & Reporting team is responsible for the coordination of reporting and analysis of investment outcomes. This role encompasses a variety of tasks including the reporting of investments within New York Life's portfolios on a Statutory basis, financial performance analysis, and the understanding and implementation of investment accounting policies. The position ensures that all relevant reporting is accurate and adheres to internal and external accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, it provides financial analysis that elucidates and supports the reported outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial reporting deliverables for New York Life's Investment portfolio, including Senior Management reports, Investment Committee reports, Statutory Blue Books, and Statutory Notes/Disclosures.
  • Oversee daily responsibilities, conduct self-reviews, and communicate status updates promptly to management.
  • Review financial reports for internal (Controller, CFO, Business Units, and Investment Committee) and external (Regulatory) stakeholders.
  • Proactively assist the team in various capacities, including supporting senior associates/managers on projects or ad-hoc tasks and providing assistance to offshore teams.
  • Coordinate with shared services to prepare and deliver investment-related data.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX by developing, documenting, testing, and reviewing controls and procedures.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Investment Accounting Policy in accordance with Statutory standards and regulations.

What You'll Bring:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a highly productive environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt priorities as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP/SharePoint is preferred.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $77,500 - $132,500

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors including individual experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and may participate in an incentive program.
