Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Administers employee benefits, addressing inquiries, completing necessary documentation, and facilitating training and orientation for new hires.
  • Oversees payroll operations, including time entry, tax calculations, and processing payroll data.
  • Conducts candidate screening, interviews, and prepares documentation for hiring decisions.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and proposes enhancements.
  • Manages the completion and filing of essential forms, investigates workplace incidents, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Coordinates various employee engagement programs such as health fairs and recognition events.
  • Processes HR and payroll changes, reviews profit-sharing submissions, and advises on merit pay and job classifications.
  • Collaborates with management to evaluate employee skills and recommends development plans or performance management strategies.
  • Facilitates training sessions on topics such as OSHA compliance and workplace conduct.
  • Assists in resolving employee and supervisor conflicts.
  • Supports the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Evaluates and manages FMLA and salary plan programs, and addresses employee council matters.
  • Investigates and recommends improvements to HR processes, including workers' compensation and performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of HR programs including benefits, payroll, and compliance.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking and investigative skills.
  • Ability to assertively engage with employees and management.
  • Capable of working independently while interacting with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at fostering trusting relationships.
  • Must demonstrate diplomacy and initiative.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in HR, benefits, or payroll administration.
  • HR certification is preferred (e.g., PHR, SPHR).
