Job Overview

The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the Team Leader in overseeing daily functions at the Goodwill Good Neighbor Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitates training, oversight, and assessment of team members in alignment with Goodwill's policies and operational guidelines.
  2. Assists the Team Leader in managing daily operations effectively.
  3. Maintains operational continuity in the absence of the Team Leader.
  4. Guarantees exceptional customer service, aiming for a minimum score of 85% on customer satisfaction evaluations.
  5. Oversees the proper management of incoming donations in accordance with organizational standards.
  6. Assists in workforce scheduling using the designated software.
  7. Reviews and approves employee time records in the absence of the Team Leader.
  8. Coordinates communication regarding transportation and maintenance requirements.
  9. Ensures the cleanliness and overall presentation of the center.
  10. Manages inventory supplies securely, adhering to budgetary constraints.
  11. Implements security measures as per organizational protocols.
  12. Supports the Team Leader in upholding safety regulations and practices.
  13. Follows Goodwill's core values and guiding principles.
  14. Ensures timely rotation of merchandise in compliance with agency policies.
  15. Completes necessary reporting, including financial and operational documentation.
  16. Analyzes management reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  17. Ensures accuracy in daily reporting and operational assessments.
  18. Proposes enhancements to improve efficiency and work quality.
  19. Stays informed about product knowledge and market trends.
  20. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods, with the capacity to lift up to sixty pounds regularly.
  2. Must handle various materials, including sharp objects.

Working Environment:

Primarily indoors, with variations due to seasonal changes.

Interpersonal Skills:

  1. Ability to foster effective relationships and manage conflicts with team members and customers.
  2. Capability to engage positively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Two years of managerial experience in a retail setting; experience in apparel is advantageous.
  2. High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  3. Ability to train team members effectively.
  4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  5. Resourceful in seeking internal and external support to achieve objectives.
  6. Proficient in motivating and delegating tasks to team members.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
