Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Investor Communications is responsible for overseeing all facets of both internal and external communications, as well as investor relations. This pivotal role emphasizes the development and execution of a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that aligns with the organization’s long-term growth objectives while upholding brand integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic external communications plan that enhances the organization's brand reputation and supports business objectives.
  • Formulate an investor communications strategy to keep stakeholders informed about key enterprise initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry organizations and media outlets to facilitate interviews, speaking engagements, and presentations that elevate brand visibility.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership regarding external communications and executive positioning.
  • Monitor industry trends and potential risks to brand reputation, offering actionable insights and response strategies.
  • Enhance the corporate digital footprint, including management of the corporate website and social media platforms.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for senior housing advocacy groups.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and research to inform stakeholders.
  • Standardize presentations and communications for board meetings.
  • Maintain corporate fact sheets, bios, and pitch materials.
  • Oversee brand positioning efforts related to recruitment and retention.
  • Develop and manage internal communications initiatives, including newsletters and employee updates.
  • Prepare and update corporate investor presentations and pitch decks.
  • Manage submissions for corporate awards.
  • Supervise external communications and public relations agencies.
  • Draft and approve press releases, ensuring effective distribution.
  • Act as the lead consultant for internal and external communications.
  • Manage reputational issues and crisis communications, ensuring protocols are regularly updated and practiced.
  • Coordinate crisis management exercises with enterprise leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in external or marketing communications within a mid to large-sized organization; in-house experience is essential, agency experience is a plus.
  • At least five years of experience in investor communications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
