FLSA: EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Front of House Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional experiences for our patrons. This position involves overseeing all front-end operations in alignment with established policies to ensure efficient, friendly service and profitable management. A keen focus on the intricacies of front-of-house organization and service is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a positive, courteous demeanor and a polished, professional appearance.
  • Assisting the General Manager in managing front-of-house staff, which may involve scheduling, conflict resolution, documentation, hiring, and termination.
  • Addressing guest inquiries and providing assistance as needed.
  • Supporting the roles of other team members (such as host, server, food runner) during unexpected absences or peak times.
  • Overseeing the organization, efficiency, and adherence to policies regarding both administrative tasks and service in the dining area.
  • Staying informed about menu items, including food and beverage offerings.
  • Supervising staff in relation to guest service, cleanliness, and maintenance of the restaurant and its surroundings.
  • Conducting daily inspections and periodic audits to ensure equipment safety.
  • Responding to guest and community feedback to enhance marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Building and nurturing guest relationships, both new and established.
  • Encouraging teamwork, camaraderie, and a positive atmosphere among employees.
  • Delivering outstanding guest service, including personally greeting and seating guests and engaging with them during their dining experience.
  • Addressing guest complaints in a friendly, professional manner, ensuring follow-up when necessary (and reporting escalated issues to the General Manager).
  • Collaborating with the General Manager, Culinary Director, and other staff to drive the restaurant's success.
  • Understanding the company's mission, core values, and philosophy.
  • Complying with all company safety and sanitation protocols.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Food Handler Certification is mandatory.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe work environment.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and management software is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Flexibility in job responsibilities and openness to completing various tasks as needed.
  • Ability to operate and utilize all necessary equipment for restaurant operations.
  • Capacity to lift or handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work varied hours and days based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens such as peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
