Role Overview

The Production Operations Leader is accountable for overseeing the manufacturing processes at our facility, collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sales Teams, and clients to ensure the delivery of superior components. This position supervises departmental heads to guarantee that operational objectives are set and met, enhancing customer satisfaction while controlling expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes and drives departmental objectives to align with Trelleborg's overarching Goals and Objectives.
  • Engages with team leaders to communicate and revise goals and metrics, providing clear evidence of progress.
  • Conducts process evaluations to ensure adherence to established procedures and policies.
  • Supports and maintains safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance metrics across all operational sectors.
  • Collaborates with various departments to implement necessary enhancements (tools, equipment, procedures, training materials, etc.).
  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement, steering site Operational Excellence and Procurement Excellence initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Partners with Management to meet financial targets and deliverables for the site.
  • Actively participates in the strategic planning of site operations in line with Trelleborg's vision.
  • Provides effective leadership to foster employee engagement and communication.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain and Quality teams to promote a unified TSS culture.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service as needed.
  • Advances manufacturing processes to uphold a Lean culture.
  • Escalates issues or concerns to the Plant Manager as necessary.
  • Ensures a safe and clean working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Operations.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with Lean Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience managing within a unionized manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or a master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Operations Management.

  • Effective communication skills for conveying and receiving ideas and information.
  • Demonstrated job knowledge to achieve world-class performance.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel may be required.
