Position Overview

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing departmental operations by undertaking a variety of essential tasks. In this significant front-line position, the chosen individual will deliver exceptional service to our patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while executing administrative duties through a solid understanding of medical terminology and relevant applications.


Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge typically gained through a high school education; at least one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office, medical clinic, or mental health office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with medical terminology; experience in scheduling, screening, and confirming medical appointments using a computerized information system; current or prior experience in obtaining/checking authorizations; experience in scanning documents and managing a multi-line phone system.

One year of relevant experience in a medical office clinical setting with medical terminology is preferred.

Must possess a strong desire and/or experience to engage with a patient population that is diverse socially, financially, and ethnically.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision while completing assignments accurately is essential.
