Job Summary

The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for patients, families, and staff by accurately identifying patients, verifying insurance, and collecting pre-service payments. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to collect demographic and financial information
  • Schedule appointments, pre-register patients, and verify insurance
  • Collect patient payments and assign ICD-10 codes
  • Enter patient information accurately and efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and families
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of healthcare experience or similar setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10 coding, insurance verification, and point of service collections
