Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of produce department employees, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
  • Oversee the receiving, stocking, and merchandising of fresh produce, ensuring high-quality products and optimal store displays.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, minimizing waste and excess stock, and implementing effective inventory management strategies.
  • Develop and implement sales promotions, displays, and visual merchandising plans to drive sales growth and increase customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with store management and other departments to achieve business objectives, including sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store or corporate management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a produce department management role, preferably in a grocery retail environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
