Concrete Estimator

Performance Construction Company is seeking an experienced Estimator with structural concrete expertise to join our Pottsville, PA office. As a key member of our Pre-construction / Estimating department, you will be responsible for creating and submitting completed proposals to potential clients in response to requests for bids. Key Responsibilities:
Complete all takeoffs, scope reviews, estimates, quotes, budgets, Q-plugs, bid strategies, and value engineering.
Compile and prepare all assigned project scopes, bid criteria, addenda, schedule, and milestone dates, bid alternates, and bid unit costs in support of a bid.
Create and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, including bid solicitation and post-bid follow-ups.
Maintain an accurate unit cost database, cost tracking, cost control, and post-bid cost analysis.
Perform detailed quantity takeoff and survey utilizing technology.
Perform accurate cost estimates utilizing unit price cost information at the level of detail appropriate for the owner product being produced.
Perform trade-specific scoping.
Ensure bids are being received by the Estimating team and coordinate with Estimators as needed to ensure information is received timely.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license.
5+ years of experience in construction estimating.
Proven history of successfully executing the bid day model.
Experience with large and complex concrete projects.
Knowledge of hard bids, soft bids, Design-Build, and GMP projects.
Advanced to expert Excel and Estimating software skills, including programs such as On-Screen Takeoff and B2W.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, for up to 14 hours per day and 7 days per week if needed, primarily in a professional office environment. While performing the essential functions of this position, must regularly see, speak, and hear; frequently stand; walk; occasionally kneel and stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
